CONCIERGE SPOTLIGHT
GWEN SUKEENA
It was a pleasure to spend an afternoon with our fascinating Concierge
Spotlight, Gwen Sukeena of The Four Seasons Hotel, Beverly Hills. Gwen has been a Concierge with Four Seasons properties since 1996.
The majority of her career has been at The Four Seasons in Newport Beach, but has also worked at The Four Seasons Las Vegas, and at The St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point. After 10 years of being in the concierge community, Gwen was recently offered a job at the Hotel Bel-Air as one of the front office managers. As it was a difficult decision, she decided to take the offer and looks forward to starting toward the end of January. Gwen is native to California, growing up in Orange County where most of her immediate family still resides.
During the process of creating each Concierge Spotlight, we are always pleased to learn about the interesting backgrounds and lifestyles that each concierge shares with us throughout the time we spend at lunch and having fun with our photo shoot. During our lunch at the Ivy on Robertson, Monica (Photographer) and I chatted with Gwen about everything under the sun. Gwen was telling us that her favorite part about her Concierge profession is that, "No day is the same. My profession allows me the unique opportunity to combine everything that I love about LA with the highest standards of service. It is very rewarding." It seems that the most appealing part of living and working in the LA area for Gwen is the rich cultural diversity that transcends into the many aspects of food, music and art. We would have to agree with you on that Gwen!
Personally, Gwen shared a plethora of "talent-tid-bits" with us throughout the day; to include that she is a licensed Esthetician, Certified Interior Designer, soon to be Massage Therapist, and has played soccer competitively for over twenty years. We were also able to talk a lot about her passion for people and world events. Gwen has a very progressive and encouraging attitude. For instance, Gwen was telling us about how you can purchase a kit, and convert a diesel car to run entirely off vegetable oil. So, she sent us to a web-site called www.greasecar.com. What an education! And apparently, Morgan Freeman really digs this too! Look for his photo on the site. On behalf of Elite Adventure Tours, I would like to thank Gwen for being our Concierge Spotlight for January 2007! It is truly a privilege to work with her and all of her colleagues at The Four Seasons Hotel, Beverly Hills. |
